Therapy is about connection—so before we dive into your story, here’s a little of mine.

Background & Education

My path to becoming a therapist started with a deep curiosity about people and how they make sense of their experiences. After earning my undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, I moved to New York City to complete my Master’s in Social Work at Columbia University.

Over the past eight years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with children, teens, young adults, and families across a range of clinical settings, including high-acuity hospital environments. These experiences shaped my thoughtful, grounded approach to care—one that blends evidence-based practice with genuine human connection. I bring both clinical expertise and a steady, compassionate presence into the therapy room, always with the goal of helping clients build insight, resilience, and meaningful change.

MY STORY

As a first-generation South Asian American, my personal experiences deeply inform the way I show up as a therapist. Growing up between cultures taught me what it’s like to balance family expectations, cultural values, and your own evolving sense of self. I understand the complexity of navigating multiple worlds—and how isolating it can feel when those experiences aren’t fully understood. I’m also bilingual and fluent in Hindi, which allows me to support clients and families who feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their native language or who value working with someone who understands cultural nuance on a deeper level.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m grounded by time with my husband, our daughter, and our golden retriever, Cooper. Whether it’s long walks, baking, traveling, or slow weekends at home, these moments of connection and rest reflect the balance and intentionality I hope to help my clients cultivate in their own lives.

MY VALUES AS A THERAPIST

I love therapy because it’s one of the few places where you get to slow down and actually be honest—without worrying about judgment, expectations, or having to “hold it together.” I feel incredibly grateful to do this work and to sit with people as they figure themselves out, unlearn old patterns, and make sense of what they’re carrying. Watching clients feel lighter, clearer, and more at ease with themselves never gets old.

I believe you don’t need to be fixed—you need to be understood. My priority is creating a space that feels safe, human, and non-judgmental, where you can show up exactly as you are.

I value curiosity over criticism and collaboration over hierarchy. Therapy is something we do together, at your pace, with honesty, warmth, and respect. Cultural awareness and sensitivity are central to my work, especially when navigating identity, family dynamics, and intergenerational experiences.

Above all, I value connection. Research has consistently demonstrated thatthe relationship between you and your therapist matters more than anything else in therapy—even more than specific techniques, years of experience, or how long you’re in treatment. Feeling seen and understood is often where real change begins.
